Ajay is a Chartered Accountant with over 23 years of collective experience in Risk Management, Business Process Improvement, Capital Raising & Debt Restructuring. He began his career as a Process Manager with JP Morgan Chase (JPMC) based in Singapore, and later in Hong Kong. He then moved to ABN AMRO as lead Financial Analyst covering projects in Amsterdam, United Kingdom and India. Ajay has significant risk consulting experience having worked with EY India and KPMG Bahrain where he has advised large multinational banks in India and regional banks in Bahrain on Risk, Basel and ICAAP frameworks. Ajay has spent more than 18 years in the Middle East. He was the Group Head of Risk Management at GFH Bahrain for 10 years and was a core member of the Executive Management Committee, reporting independently to the Board. While at GFH he was instrumental in developing and implementing the risk framework of the Bank. Ajay was also closely involved in capital raising, debt restructuring and also led the rating initiatives of the Bank with S&P and Fitch. Ajay was a part of the core team responsible for obtaining banking licenses in Qatar and UAE and also had an oversight on the Compliance function. Ajay was the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of QFB, an investment bank licensed by the QFCRA in Doha. He was instrumental in leading a strategic turnaround of the Bank working closely with the new Chairman and CEO.

Illustrative Experience:
- Directly reported to the Board Audit & Risk Committee – responsible for the overall risk management framework of the Bank. Presented the Quarterly Risk MIS to the Board.
- Developed & implemented the quantitative Group Risk Appetite model for the Bank along with the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
- Developed & implemented a group-wide stress testing model for the Bank
- Implemented the FATCA compliance framework for the Bank and assumed overall oversight for the Compliance function
Single Point Contact with international rating agencies (Fitch, S&P, Capital Intelligence) to manage and maintain the credit rating of Bank - Core member of the group that led debt restructuring negotiations and strategic fund-raising initiatives of the Bank. I was part of the team that designed an innovative capital instrument to augment the liquidity of the Bank and was directly responsible for discussions with the regulators (Central Bank & Capital market) and obtaining approval
